After we have re-string you instrument, and now having the new fresh sound. Our next task is keep it this way, our fingers secrete oils that can affect our strings making them sound dull and old.
To prevent this from happening we should wash our hands before we play our instrument. Wipe down our strings with a clean cotton cloth after every session. By practicing this it will be sure to add more hours to the life of our instrument string.
